A Little Bit About Me...

I would like to take some time to introduce myself! My name is Mallory Pickens and I have been teaching at Our Lady Star of the Sea School since 2010. I am a second grade teacher and have taught all subject areas, including Religion here at Star.



In 2008, I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. In 2011, I began the journey of furthering my education through Michigan State University's online Master of Education program. I am expected to graduate in May 2013 with a Master of Arts degree in Education with a concentration in Science and Mathematics Education. 



On November 25, 2011 I married my best friend, who just happened to be a University of Michigan Alum. We have spent the beginning years of our marriage enjoying the time we have together (except those special days when MSU plays U of M)! In my free time (when I am not blogging and finding new, exciting things for my classroom), I enjoy playing and watching sports. I also enjoy searching Pinterest for fun, craft activities to do on the weekends!



I have always wanted to be a teacher and find true joy in being able to admit every day that I love my job!
